editing:

- addresses problems in order to fix them
- sees the essay as a final product
revision:
- focuses on the ideas in a paper
- looks at the "big picture"
- takes into account issues such as organization,clarity,and logic
- considers the reader,and what she/he needs to know to understand the paper
- works towards clarification of ideas and logic
both are impotant
